DYNASTY BIEWERS

BIEWER HISTORY                                  Hug A Biewer Today

The Biewer originated in Hunsruck, Germany in January 1984, when the breeding of two Yorkshire Terriers produced a puppy with a recessive piebald gene. This puppy was named Schneeflocken von Friedheck. The owners of these dogs were Werner and Gertrude Biewer and they spent several years selectively breeding these distinctive dogs until they were able to breed true.  The Biewers named this wonderful new breed the Biewer Yorkshire Terrier a la Pom Pon.

In 1989 the Biewer was accepted as its own breed in Germany.  As a relatively new breed in North America, the Biewer has not been recognized by either the American Kennel Club or the Canadian Kennel Club.
